Question 1

How much do custom blinds, shades, and shutters cost in Broomfield?

Accepted Answer

Custom window treatments typically range from under $100 to over $1,000 per window. The price depends on the product, window size, material, operating system, motorization, and number of windows, so an exact quote requires measuring the actual windows. That's why Made in the Shade Broomfield includes a free in-home consultation — we measure every window, show samples in your home's real Colorado light, and tailor the quote to your actual project.

Question 2

What window treatments are best for Colorado's high-altitude sun and four seasons?

Accepted Answer

Cellular (honeycomb) shades are the top all-season choice for the Front Range — they insulate against cold, snowy winters and hot, dry summers, lowering your Xcel Energy bill year-round. Solar shades block the intense high-altitude UV and glare, and plantation shutters add insulation and lasting value. Because Colorado sits at altitude, UV is stronger than at sea level — so UV-blocking shades protect your floors and furniture especially well.

Question 3

Are you locally owned?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Made in the Shade Broomfield is a locally, family-owned window treatment company that personally handles the consultation, measuring, and installation. You work directly with your Front Range neighbors, not a call center or a big-box store. We proudly serve Broomfield, Louisville, Lafayette, Erie, Superior, and the surrounding communities.

Question 4

Do cellular shades really lower energy bills in Colorado?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cellular (honeycomb) shades trap a layer of insulating air against the glass, reducing heat loss in Colorado's cold winters and heat gain in the sunny summers. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates cellular shades can cut window heat gain by up to 40%. One local Broomfield homeowner reported her summer Xcel Energy bill dropped about 14% after installing cellular blackout shades — real, measurable savings.

Question 5

Do your smart shades work with Alexa and Google Home?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our motorized shades work with all major smart-home devices, including Alexa and Google Home. Schedule them to lower during the peak afternoon sun or open with the morning light — convenient and energy-smart, even on tall, hard-to-reach windows. They're a favorite for the large windows and mountain-view homes across the Front Range.

Question 6

What areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

Made in the Shade Broomfield serves Broomfield, Louisville, Lafayette, Erie, Superior, Dacono, and surrounding areas across the Front Range and Denver-Boulder corridor. The mobile showroom comes to your home anywhere in the service area. Call (303) 529-7951 to confirm we cover your neighborhood — we'll bring the showroom to you.
